Associate Professor, RN to BSN Coordinator
Dr. Alexander is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at WKU. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing, Baccalaureate in Nursing, Master of Science Degree in Nursing Education and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Western Kentucky University.
Dr. Alexander is the Coordinator of the RN to BSN Program. She has taught in the School of Nursing since 2009. Dr. Alexander is currently teaching Nursing Leadership and Management and Professional Issues. Prior to teaching, Dr. Alexander worked as a registered nurse in ambulatory surgery, newborn nursery, and medical-surgical nursing.
Dr. Alexander is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Theta Chapter, American Community Health Nursing Educators (ACHNE), International Faith Community Nurses, the American Nurses Association, Kentucky Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Kentucky League for Nursing, Medical Reserve Corps, and is a member/volunteer of other local and regional professional organizations. Research interests include: service learning, general nutrition knowledge, faith community nursing, & implementation of electronic health records.
She was the recipient of the Sigma Theta Tau International, Kappa Theta Chapter, Excellence in Nursing Practice Award and the Master Advisor Certificate in 2014.
